Patricia A. Cawley

Patricia A. Byrd Cawley, age 83, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Thursday evening, August 15, 2024, at her home. Born in Camden, S.C., she was a daughter of the late William “Buddy” Byrd and Eva Knight Byrd. Mrs. Cawley was a longtime employee of Wateree Textile and attended Kershaw Second Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains and cooking. In her spare time, she loved to cross stitch and work on crossword puzzles.

She is survived by 4 children, Patsy Broughton and her husband, Todd, Angie Arant, John Allen Cawley, II and Tracie Cawley Dowey; six grandchildren, Joshua Austin Broughton, Daniel Andrew O’Neal and his fiancé, Taylor Simmons, Brandon Anton O’Neal and his fiancé, Elizabeth, Emma Grace Cawley, Jeffrey Ray Dowey, Jr. and his fiancé, Nancy Smart and Michael Channon Dowey; ten great grandchildren, Mason, Regan, Braxton, Kaylee, Jase, Jaxton, Skyler, Pasley, Harper and Timmy Ray; two sisters, Glendora Jones and Betty Jean Nyburg and two brothers, Charles Byrd and his wife, Bridget and Michael Byrd and his wife, Melinda. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Cawley, Sr.; her son-in-law, Larry Wayne Arant; her grandson, Cody Alan Broughton and siblings, Annie Sue Burnside, William Byrd, June Byrd, Joseph Byrd, Peggy Byrd and Judy Queen.

Private services for the family will be held, Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
