Paschal V. Horton

A funeral service for Paschal Vernon Horton, 82 of Kershaw, will be held at 1:00 o’clock p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2015, in Providence Baptist Church. The Rev. Gene Stokes will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors.

Mr. Horton, widower of Dorothy Neely Horton died, Wednesday, September 30, in KershawHealth, Camden. Born in Kershaw, he was a son of the late Sidney Blondell, Sr. and Ida Eliza West Horton. Mr. Horton retired from Dupont and was a cattle farmer. He also was a member of Providence Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Horton served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his son, Robert P. Horton and his wife Teresa; a granddaughter, Emily Horton; a step-grandson, Keith Mills; a great granddaughter, Ava H. Gonzales; a brother, Douglas Horton and his wife Esther. He was preceded in death by a son; Vernon Kent Horton; three sisters, Zula Lee Fletcher, Dorothy West, Edith Coates and four brothers, Richard Evans Horton, Sidney Blondell Horton, Jr., Gary Horton and Dale Horton.

The family will receive friends, Friday, October 2, at Baker Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
