Pamela Ann “Pam” Fowler Newman, age 65, of Camden, S.C., passed away, Saturday, January 20, 2024, at MUSC Kershaw Health Medical Center, Camden, S.C. Born in Anderson, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Aubrey Lee Fowler and Frankie Burden Fowler. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Chemistry from North Carolina State University. Pam was a member of Timrod Baptist Church, Bethune but enjoyed attending New Hope Church, Camden. She loved being a member of the Elgin Red Hatters and the Kershaw County Quilting Guild.
She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Robbie C. Newman; her mother-in-law, Verna R. Newman; 2 sisters-in-law, Myra N. (Trent) McLaughlin and Jamye D. Newman; her nephew, Chas (Jessica) McLaughlin; her niece, Marlee (Vincent) Bos; her great nephew, Titus Bos; 3 great nieces, Elliette McLaughlin, Heidi Bos and Avery Kate McLaughlin and she was very close to her cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Paschal Newman.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of New Hope Church, Camden, S.C.
The funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation in the church sanctuary beginning at 2:00 p.m. The Revs. Lyn Hill and Dr. Trent McLaughlin will officiate the service.
A burial and committal service will be held in the Timrod Baptist Church Cemetery, Bethune, S.C. following the service. Rev. Jeremy Ussery will offer the prayer of committal.
