Funeral services for Ollie Gertrude Ghent Farmer Baker, 92, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 9, 2009, in the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
Mrs. Baker died Saturday, February 7, 2009, in White Oak Manor, Lancaster, where she was a resident. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Edith Humphries Ghent. She was retired from the textile industry. She was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church where she was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She was first married to the late James Farmer and second to the late W.L. Baker.
Surviving are three children; Bobbie Farmer Reeves and her husband Harold of Kershaw, Dale Farmer Simpson and her husband Tony of Anderson, and Dennis James Farmer and his wife Susan of McBee, three step-children; Nancy Phillips of Bethune, Clifton Baker of Kershaw and Sandra Faver of Columbia, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a daughter; Bonnie Carrol Farmer and three brothers; John W. Ghent, Heyward Ghent and W.B. Ghent.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P.M. and other times at the home of her daughter, 6085 Kershaw-Camden Highway, Kershaw.
