Olin Malcom Gainey, age 73 of Cassatt, S.C. was born September 16, 1950, in Chesterfield, S.C. and passed away on January 24, 2024, at MUSC Kershaw Health Medical Center, Camden, S.C. He was a son of the late Malcom Gainey and Dorothy Moseley Outen. Olin was a technician with Gainey’s Heating and Cooling for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to fish, landscape and cherished his pets. Olin was a devoted Christian, a member of House of Prayer and liked to sing.


He is survived by 3 brothers, Larry Gainey, Richard Outen and Scott Outen; 2 sisters-in-law, Brenda Gainey, and Sandra Gainey; special nephew, Johnny and his wife Faith and their children, Kristy Annah, and Johnny Lee; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by special friends, James Kelly, Mike and Renne Gainey and Charles and Joyce Watkins.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Robert Gainey, Billy Ray Gainey and Randall Outen; his sister, Brenda Waites and nephew, Billy Ray Gainey, Jr.


A visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at BAKER CONFERENCE CENTER, 105 North Minor Street, Kershaw, S.C.


The funeral service to celebrate Olin’s life will be held following the visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the conference center. Rev. Jim Tanner will officiate.


The burial will follow in House of Prayer Cemetery, John Munn Road, Bethune, S.C.


Memorial remembrances in memory of Olin may be made to the charity of one’s choice.


Arrangements are under the care of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, S.C.
