Oakie Lee Boone

Memorial services for Oakie Lee Boone, 52, of Kershaw will be held at 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2013, at DeKalb Baptist Church, Camden, SC. The Revs. Keith Coates and Brian Cobb will officiate. The viewing and receiving of friends will be held, Thursday, May 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. Surviving are his wife of 11 years; Patricia McDonald Boone of Kershaw, a daughter; Leigh Ann Boone of Murrells Inlet, SC, a step-son; Mark Phillips of Kershaw, 6 grandchildren; Savannah, Madison, Happy, Mary Dove, Tyler and Kelsey. Born in Troy, NC, he was the son of the late Thaddeus (Bogan) and Kelsey Allen Boone. Mr. Bonne’s parents died when he was a toddler. He was raised by his paternal grandparents; the late Joe and Pearl Boone. Mr. Boone was employed by Westville Logging. He enjoyed working , being around people and he never met a stranger.
