Norman Welch

The family will hold a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2012, at The Cross and the Sword Church, Kershaw to celebrate the life of Norman Eugene Welch, 74, of Westville. Mr. Welch passed away Saturday, October 20, at KershawHealth, Camden. Born in Oakdale, LA, he was the son of the late Elijah L. and Clara Bell Coker Welch. He was a long distance truck driver and a member of The Cross and the Sword Church. He also enjoyed singing, wood working and was very active in Nursing Home Ministry. Surviving are his wife; Mary Payne Stephens Welch of the home, 2 daughters; Kay Lynn Zanger (Larry) of Kershaw, Linda Welch of Durant, OK, 5 step-children; Thad Stephens (Jackie), Kay Roberts, Russell Stephens (Cindy), Lisa Bowers (Tommy), Chris Bowers (Allison), 16 grandchildren; Leena, Reema, Matt, Quentin, J.P., Nikki, Austin, Staci, Amber, Alena, R.J., Rosie, Ava, Noah, Deanna and Andrew, 5 brothers, and 4 sisters.
