Funeral services for Norma T. Morris, 89, of Kershaw will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2012, in the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Hope Avins will officiate. Mrs. Morris, widow of F. Calvin Morris died Thursday, May 17, in Springdale Healthcare Center, Camden. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Lula Truesdale Horton. Mrs. Morris had a long career in Nursing, serving as a Registered Nurse at Grace Memorial Hospital, Morganton, N.C, and Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, Kershaw where she was a former Sunday School Teacher. She also enjoyed eating lunch almost everyday and visiting with friends at Cromer’s Cafeteria. Surviving are her nephew, Jeffrey Horton and his wife Deborah of Kershaw, Larry Morris of Alamogordo, New Mexico; special great nephews, Seth and Josh Horton; step-daughter-in-law, Marti Morris Standisch of Blairsville, Ga.; 2 step grandchildren and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by a step-son, John Morris and a brother, Kemper Horton. The family would like to thank Dr. McCorkle and Staff, Springdale Healthcare Center and Agape Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Mrs. Morris. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 305 West Church Street, Kershaw, S.C. 29067. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
