Naomi Yarborough Baker, age 85, of Lancaster, S.C., passed away, Saturday morning, March 9, 2024, at her home. Born in Andrews, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Henry Preston Yarborough and Edna Hartley Yarborough. She was a supervisor with Joslyn Clark Control and a member of White Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Baker loved the beach and working in her yard and her flower gardens. She was also an avid yard sale shopper.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Marion Excel Baker; 3 children, Susan R. Funderburk, Barbara R. (Kent) Phillips, and Marion Dairrick Baker; 5 grandchildren, Stephen Thompson, Kipp Phillips, Aaron Logan, Gabe Funderburk and Jeremy Baker; 9 great grandchildren, Makayla Thompson, Zachery Thompson, Cameron Logan, Everly Logan, Ellis Logan, Ryker Phillips, Luca Phillips, Oliver Funderburk and Declan Funderburk and 2 sisters, Sudie Y. (Thomas) Rogers and Dottie Y. (Maxie) Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 siblings, James Yarborough, John David Yarborough, Janette Yarborough Brazzell, Preston Thomas Yarborough and Juanita Yarborough Galloway.
A graveside inurnment service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 14, 2024, in Lancaster Memorial Park, Lancaster, S.C. Rev. James Howard will officiate.
Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Baker may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or White Springs Baptist Church 1249 Grace Avenue, Lancaster, S.C. 29720.
