Myrtle Boykin Portman

Graveside services for Myrtle Boykin Portman, 84, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 13, 2008, at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery, Millcreek Road, Kershaw. Rev. Larry Reeves will officiate.

Born in Darlington, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Lucille Stephens Boykin. Mrs. Portman died Friday, September 12, 2008, in Kershaw County Medical Center. She was retired from Caro-Knit and was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church. She had been attending Pleasant Hill Church of God. She was married to the late Clyde John Portman.

Surviving are 4 children; John R. Portman and his wife Diane of Kershaw, Pauline P. Bankhead and her husband Gerald of Griffin,GA., Clida Holley and her husband Mickey of Pageland, Linda A. Gainey of Bishopville, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, 2 sisters and a granddaughter.
