Mattie W. Bass

Funeral service for Mattie Weaner Bass, 92, of the Pleasant Hill Community, Heath Springs, will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, July 18, 2009, in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be private in the Salem Cemetery. Rev. Buford Hayes will officiate.

Mrs. Bass, widow of Mason Bass died Thursday, July 16, 2009, in McLeod Hospice in Florence. Born January 18, 1917, in Heath Springs, she was the daughter of the late John Foster and Lillie Albania Threatte Weaner. She and her late husband Mason owned and operated Bass Upholstery from 1953 to 1979. She was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Heath Springs Chapter # 259.

Surviving are four grandchildren; Gene Elliotte, Jr. of Orlando, FL, Renee Elliotte of Darlington, Steve Elliotte of Florence and David Elliotte and his wife Greta of Hartsville.
She was preceded in death by her son; Gene Raymond Elliotte, Sr.

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 18, 2009, from 2 to 3 P.M. prior to the service at the church.
