Mattie R. Catoe

Funeral services for Mattie Roberts Catoe, 95, will be held Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Baker Funeral Home with burial to follow in Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Robert Jeske will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday prior to the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Seniors, 1940 Bethune Road, Bethune, SC 29009.

Mrs. Catoe, widow of Rev. George T. Catoe, died Monday, September 7. Born in the Buffalo Community of Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Nannie Gardner Roberts. Mrs. Catoe had retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Haile Gold Mine Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Artis Catoe Rudd and her husband, George, of Blythewood; son, Ken T. Catoe and his wife, Jo, of Bethune; grandchildren, Barry Catoe (Sandra) of Lugoff and Steve Catoe of Bethune; great grandchildren, Savannah Catoe and Abigail Catoe; sister, Eula Hunter of Heath Springs.
