Mary Lee Lucas “Teet” Elder, 93, of Kershaw, SC, passed away, Monday morning, October 31, 2022, in White Oak Manor, Lancaster, SC. Born in Kershaw, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Coleman and Fannie Lee Robinson Lucas. Mrs. Elder retired from Springs Industries after 42 years of service. She was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church.
She is survived by five children, Linda Dianne Elder Williams of Kershaw, SC, Robert Michael (Penny) Elder of Rock Hill, SC, John Shaw (Teresa) Elder of Kershaw, SC, Cindy Melissa Elder of Rock Hill, SC and Joseph Stephen Elder of Cleveland, NC and his fiancé, Kathleen; five grandchildren, Kevin Quinn (Heather) Williams of Reidville, SC, Joshua Shaw (Anna) Elder of Kershaw, SC, Hannah Elder of Charlotte, NC, Haley Elder of Wilmington, NC and Erik Elder of Raleigh, NC; three great grandchildren, Connor Williams, Katie Williams and Rylee Elder; four step grandchildren, Julieanne (Ted) Sethness, Josh Mitchell, Trent (Kelli) Smith and Monica (Curtis) West; six step great grandchildren, Trace, Mia, Bailey, Gauge, Tanner and Greta; two step great- great grandchildren, Brynlee and Banks; four sisters, Doris Langley of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Jenell Williams of Kershaw, SC, Barbara (Bobby) Rone of Kershaw, SC and Carol Reynolds of Kershaw, SC and a brother, Jerry Lucas of Kershaw, SC; a daughter from another mother, Tammy White and an awesome caregiver, Freddie Rushing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Shaw Elder; a son-in-law, Quinn Williams; a daughter-in-law, Ann Elder; a sister, Margie Ray; two brothers, J.C. Lucas and Howard “Buckshot” Lucas; in-laws, Freida Lucas, Mendel Ray, Robert “Runt” Langley, Donald Williams, Willie Bell Lucas, Marty Reynolds, Linda Lucas, Frank and Barbara Elder and Heyward and Etta Kate Coates and nieces and nephews, Helen, Ricky, Shannon, Vardie, Mike, Kenny, Jeff “Bush” and Jimmy.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 o’clock p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2022, in Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Ronnie Hinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
The family will greet friends following the service in the cemetery and other times at the home of her daughter, Linda Williams.
