Mary Helen Phillips

Graveside services for Mary Helen McManus Phillips, 85, will be held Friday, March 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in Pleasant Plain Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Todd Montgomery and Mr. Daryl Hinson will officiate.

Mrs. Phillips, widow of William Ernest “Billy” Phillips, died Wednesday, March 20, at MUSC Lancaster. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Effel Jack “E.J.” and Hessie Baker McManus. Mrs. Phillips had retired from Springs Industries . She was a member of Pleasant Plain Baptist Church where she served as the organist and pianist.

Surviving are sons, Dennis L. Phillips (Pam) and William Kent Phillips (Barbara); grandchildren, Stephen Thompson (Tracye), Kipp Phillips (Amber), and Briana Cook (Keith); 3 great grandchildren, Makayla Thompson, Zachery Thompson, and Ryker Phillips; a sister, Dori M. Kullborn; 5 brothers, Olin, James, Henry, Carl Lee, and Ralph McManus. She was predeceased by sisters, Mae Doris Hinson, Louise M. Bowers, Alene M. Catoe, and Lillian M Phillips; brothers, E.J. McManus and John McManus.

The family will greet friends following the service in the cemetery.
