Mary Ellen Kahler

Mary Ellen Crow Kahler, 97 of Camden, SC died Saturday, June 27, 2015, at her home. Born in Kershaw, SC, on December 11, 1917. She was a daughter of the late Guy and Eva Moultrie Crow. Mrs. Kahler was a homemaker and was devoted to her family. She also was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 o’ clock a.m., Tuesday, June 30, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Mary D’Alessio will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, beginning at 9:00 o’clock a.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of her granddaughter, 562 Lockhart Rd., Kershaw.

Surviving are her three children, Guy B. Kahler, Martha K. Clyburn and Kay McManus Scott; fourteen grandchildren, Stephen Kahler, Eric Kahler, William “Billy” Kahler, Karen Hege, Alan McManus, Brian McManus, William “Buck” Clyburn, Stephanie Sumner, Chance Kahler, Amy Kahler, Michael Minor, Matthew Minor and Donna “Tina” George; twenty one great grandchildren, Brandon Kahler, Kelsy Kahler, Katherine Kahler, Todd Kahler, Whitley Kahler, Laney Hege, Deacon Hege, Lia Hege, Eric McManus, Guy McManus, Heather McManus, Bailey, Johnson, Brittany Johnson, Jacob McManus, Jolie Clyburn, Kelsi Clyburn, Dean Hilton, Ezra George, Celeste Minor, Alianna Minor and Kevon Minor and a sister, Attrus Bowers.
She was predeceased in addition to her parents by her husband, Donald Stephen Kahler, Sr.; a son, Donald Stephen Kahler, Jr.; a daughter, Cynthia R. Kahler Smith; a grandson, Kevin Kahler Minor, and two great grandchildren, the McManus twins.
