Funeral services for Mary Catoe Hunter, 92, of Kershaw, will be held at 11:00 o’clock a.m., Tuesday, March 6, in the sanctuary of Sand Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Michael Owens will conduct the service. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Catoe, loving wife of the late Earl Hunter died Sunday, March 4, at White Oak Manor, Lancaster. Born in Kershaw, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Gary Catoe and Dessie Neal Catoe. She retired from Springs Industries after 37 years of service. Mrs. Catoe was a faithful member of Sand Hill Baptist Church. She was involved with the W.M.U. and was a member of the Kings’ Daughters Sunday School class at the church.

Surviving are her 4 children; Linda Diane “Penny” (Rick Lowry) Hunter of Camden, Earl Jackson (Christine) Hunter, Jr., of Lancaster, Thomas C. Hunter and Susan McNaughton both of Kershaw; 7 grandchildren, Lori Hunter Cook of Kershaw, Matthew Hunter of Lexington, Brandon Hunter of Lancaster, Stacey Herlong of Mauldin, Jodi Plyler of Charleston, Dylan and Daniel McNaughton of Kershaw; 6 great grandchildren, Tucker Hunter, Easton Plyler, Anna Beth Herlong, Taylor Herlong, Hallie Plyler and Holden Hunter; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Gardner Catoe of Layton, UT. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents and her husband by brothers, Bill Catoe, Eugene Catoe, O.C. Catoe and George Catoe, sisters, Cena C. Broome, Lillie Mae Catoe, R.N. and Lula Bess C. Jenkins and a daughter- in-law, Mary Hunter.

The family will speak to friends following the committal service in the church sanctuary.
