A funeral service for Mary Elinor Cantler Faile 90, of Kershaw will be held at 10:00 o’clock a.m., Monday, September 14, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church. The Revs. Bobby Massey and Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. A private burial will follow the service in the Kershaw City Cemetery for the family.
Mrs. Faile, widow of Thomas Heyward “Tommy” Faile died Thursday, September 10, at KershawHealth, Camden. Born in Whiteford, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Elwood Franklin and Beulah Emma Williams Cantler. Mrs. Faile worked alongside her husband at Faile’s Insurance Agency for 25 years, and later worked for Thaxton Insurance Agency for 23 years. She was a faithful and dedicated member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Faile had served as a Sunday school teacher for 67 years including teaching the Ruth Sunday school class. She also was a member of Woman on Missions, Intercessory Prayer Time Group and the Young at Heart.
Surviving are her daughter Lynne Faile of the home; a sister, Beverly LeMaster and her husband Bill of Whiteford, Maryland; a sister-in-law, Bradford Cantler of Forest Hill, Maryland and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Donald Cantler.
Friends may call anytime Sunday, September 13, at the funeral home for a viewing until 5:00 p.m.
The family is at the home.
