Marvin Ceamon “Teet” Faulkenberry, 89, of Heath Springs, passed away peacefully at his home in Flat Creek on December 20, 2020. He was the son of the late Ceamon and Stella Hough Faulkenberry. “Teet” was a member of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church.
“Teet” was a graduate and star basketball player at Flat Creek High School. He went on to further his education at Wingate University where he also played basketball . “Teet” also served in the U.S. Air Force. Upon returning from the Air Force, he became a leader in the Flat Creek community. He was often referred to as the “Mayor of Flat Creek”. “Teet” served for decades as a youth recreation coach for Lancaster County and as a result had a positive influence on many of the young people of Lancaster County.
Mr. Faulkenberry is survived by his daughter, Ginger Faulkenberry Dove (Robert); two granddaughters, Jenny Lynn Whittington (Ryan) and Natalie Marie Dove; two great grandchildren, Stella Sloan Whittington and Kingston James Whittington. He is also survived by his second wife’s children; Carol Gunn (Bob), Lindsey Hallman, and two grandchildren; Cindy Fortune and Brian Craig. Mr. Faulkenberry was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Rollins Faulkenberry and his second wife, Bernice Hallman Faulkenberry. He was also preceded in death by his son, Mickey Rollins Faulkenberry; sister, Nancy Couch; and six brothers, Ernest, Charlie, Joe, Albert, Alston, and Rudolph Faulkenberry.
The family will hold a private graveside service for Mr. Faulkenberry at a later date. The family will also hold a public celebration of life service at a later date.
