Marvin Ralph Knight

Funeral services for Marvin Ralph Knight, 78, will be held at 5:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 19, at Baker Funeral Home. Pastor Joey Phillips will officiate. Burial will be private in the Kershaw City Cemetery.

Mr. Knight died Monday, May 17, at White Oak Manor, Lancaster. He was the son of the late Willie Lee and Almetta Melissa Usher Knight. He retired from Alltel Telephone Co. formerly Kershaw Telephone Co. Mr. Knight was a member of Providence Baptist Church. He attended USC where he played baseball and was a US Army veteran. Mr. Knight was married to the late Margaret Ruth Horne Knight.

Surviving are a daughter; Sebrina Sandy Phillips and her husband Joey of Rockwell, N.C., special niece; Jerri Bowers and her husband Omer of Heath Springs, a daughter-in-law; Kathy B. Knight of Lancaster, 8 grandchildren; Ashley Phillips, Logan (Calli) Phillips, Haleigh Phillips, Johannah Phillips, Tina (Brooks) Tomlin, Timmy (Grace) Bowers, Jeremy Wheeler and Jamie (Ashley) Wheeler, 6 great grandchildren; Jayden and Katelyn Knight, Sydney and Cale Tomlin, Dexter Bowers and Grayden Wheeler. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son; Rev. Marvin Randall Randy Knight and a sister; Mildred K. Tolbert.
