Funeral services for Marty Marion Reynolds, 70 of Kershaw will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2013, at Buffalo Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors. The Revs. Trent McLaughlin and Todd Gandy will officiate. Mr. Reynolds, loving husband of Carol Lucas Reynolds died Friday, October 25, at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Lancaster, he is the son of Myrtis Scott Reynolds Phillips and the late Herman J. Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds was the owner of Reynolds Farms and a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working on his farm and serving his church. Mr. Reynolds served our country in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963 during the Cuban Crises. Surviving are his mother of Lancaster, his wife of 48 years, Carol Lucas Reynolds of the home; 2 sons, Blake Reynolds and his wife Tammy of Kershaw, Scottie Reynolds and his wife Anissa of Kershaw; a daughter, Melissa Reynolds Smith and her husband Craig of Cassatt; 7 grandchildren, Heather Knight and her husband Daniel, Rachael Reynolds, Jill Reynolds, Justin Reynolds, Jessica Reynolds, Gunner Smith and Kaitlyn Savage; a great grandson, Brody Knight; 2 brothers, Maxie Phillips and Donnie Phillips both of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Ernest “Buck” Phillips, a brother, Michael Phillips and his special grandparents, Leonard and Zula Scott. The family will receive friends, Sunday, October 27, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home, 1215 Jones Rd., Kershaw. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, S.C. 29210.
