Funeral services for Martha Leverett Adams, 75, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010, in First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Fork Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Heath Springs. Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate.
Mrs. Adams died Wednesday, August 11, at her home. Born in Lanette, AL., she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Jean Owen Leverett. She was a retired public school teacher, holding a masters degree in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mrs. Adams had a passion for singing and had served several churches as music director. She enjoyed cross stiching and ceramics . She was a member of First Baptist Church and was a member of the Fallaw Sunday School Class and had served as their teacher. Mrs. Adams was involved in her community and was a member of the King Alfred Garden Club.
Surviving are her husband; James Jimmy Adams of the home, 2 sons; Jay Adams and his wife Karen of Bloomington, IN., Tom Adams and his wife Lisa of Mt. Holly, NC, 4 grandsons; Matthew, Lucas, Alex and Zach Adams, a brother; Tom Leverett and a sister; Harriett Jones both of Lafayette, AL.
The family will receive friends, Friday, August 13, from 6 to 7:30 at Baker Funeral Home.
