Marlowe Faulkenberry Jones, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. She was born in Lancaster County, S.C., a daughter of the late Lula Mae Bowers Faulkenberry and Edward N. Faulkenberry. In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Jones, a sister-in-law, Cathy Faulkenberry and a brother-in-law, Lanny Robinson. Marlowe graduated from Kershaw High School and Columbia Commercial College. She was employed at Springs Industries as corporate executive assistant for 42 years. She was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church and was a part of the Community Bible study group, Common Threads.

Marlowe was so loved and was so dedicated to her family. She enjoyed gardening and beautiful flowers, and the beauty of all nature. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing her piano, loved to cook for her family, and loved to work word puzzles and anything Elvis. She was always interested in others and lent her ear to anyone who needed to talk. She would always give wisdom in her quiet way. She loved children and they all loved “WoWo”. She would spend hours playing with all the children in the family, and always echoed the words of her mother – “Time spent with children is never wasted time”.

Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Jones Calcutt and Randall Lee Calcutt, Jr.; two grandsons, Aiden Lawrence Jones Calcutt and Wyatt Randall Calcutt; brother, Douglas N. Faulkenberry; two sisters, Nell F. Robinson and Vivian F. Chapman; four nieces, Lauren Faulkenberry, Anna R. Rhyne (Glenn), Ellen Robinson and Emily Chapman; two nephews, Will Robinson (Olivia) and Casey Chapman (Lauren Cook); and eleven great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends in Florence, S.C. at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, July 5, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Sand Hill Baptist Church in Kershaw, S.C directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home, Florence, S.C. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 PM prior to the service at the church. A private burial will be held following the service in the church cemetery with Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, S.C. assisting.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
