Marjorie Johnson “Margie” Baker, 83, of Charlotte, NC met Jesus on Thursday, May 10, 2018.
She was born on April 11, 1935 to the late Jacob and Carolyn Tidwell Johnson. She graduated from Midway High School in Camden, SC in 1953 where she was valedictorian of her class. Mrs. Baker also retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of Charlotte, NC after approximately 35 years of service.
Survivors include the love of her life, her husband of 64 years, Willie Franklin Baker; daughters, Ann Baria Kirk and her husband David, Renia Baker Burley and her husband Edwin; grandsons, Wesley Tripp and his fiancée Lynn Anders, Jamie Tripp and his fiancée, Felicte Amorrette O’Leary, Gregory Kirk; a great grandson, Ryland Kirk and her brother, Harold Johnson of Palm Bay, FL.
Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by siblings, J.C. (Paul) Johnson, Edna Benton, Navoleen Johnson, Eugenia Frost, and Shirley Baskins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 o’clock a.m., Monday, May 14, in the sanctuary of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Bobby James and Alvin Rogers will officiate.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 14, one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 o’clock a.m. at the church.
