Marion Boone

Funeral services for Marion Boone, 83 of Kershaw, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday. August 14, 2013, at Refuge Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Tim Broughton and Donnie Barrett will officiate. Mr. Boone loving husband of 61 years to Elsie Broughton Boone died Sunday, August 11, 2013, at Dorn VA Medical Center, Columbia. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late Wesley and Blanche B. Boone. Mr. Boone was a electrician. He enjoyed welding and building utility trailers and working in his garden. He also attended Refuge Baptist Church and was a US Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Debbie Hilton and her husband Jackie of Liberty Hill, Phillip Boone and his wife Ann of Kershaw; two grandsons, Sheldon Hayes and his special friend, Laura of Lugoff, Michael Boone and his wife Jami of Lexington; two step grandsons, Jason Hilton and his wife Dana of Lancaster, Chris Sowell and his wife Ashley of Kershaw; three step-grandchildren, a brother, Ralph Boone of Camden and a sister, Thelma Moseley of Westville. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Howard Boone, Grady Boone, Elwood Boone, Alton Boone; a step sister, Rosa Lee Bass and a step brother, Clennie Boone. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, August 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Refuge Baptist Church, 2814 Lockhart Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
