A service to celebrate the life of Marilyn Hinson, 74, of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 1:00 o’clock p.m., Friday, June 9, 2017, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church. Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. A private family burial will precede the service in the Kershaw City Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Bobby Massey.

Miss Hinson died Saturday, June 3, 2017, at her home. Born in Kershaw, SC, she was a daughter of the late James Boyd “J.B.” and Mary Alyce Hilton Hinson. She was a graduate of Mars Hill College and the Medical University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy. Miss Hinson had been a pharmacist for 50 years. She dedicated her entire life in service as a Sunday School Teacher, WMU Director and Deacon of First Baptist Church and in both home and foreign missions across the world. Her missions carried her to Paris, France, Brazil, Africa, China, Sri Lanka and Romania.

Surviving are 5 nieces, Susan H. (Gary) Cohen of Easley, SC, Jane H. (Len) Carter of North Augusta, SC; Debbie H. (John) Sims, Pam Hinson and Cindy Hinson all of Lugoff, SC; a nephew, Rick Hinson of Lugoff, SC; 2 great nieces, Amelia Carter and Claire Sims, 2 great nephews, Brad Cohen and Ben Carter, her former sister-in-law, Sylvia S. Hinson and numerous cousins and church family. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Douglas Hinson and Kenzie Mac Hinson.

The family will receive friends following the celebration of life service Friday, June 9, in the church Fellowship Hall.
