Marie Baker Hancock

Funeral services for Marie Baker Hancock, 92, of Kershaw will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2011, in Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Jamie Rogers will officiate. Mrs. Hancock widow of Thomas R. Hancock entered her heavenly home Sunday, September 18, in KershawHealth-Camden surrounded by her loving family. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Whiteford and Lillie Roberts Baker. She was retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Mrs. Hancock loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her family. She also enjoyed working in her flowers. Her church family meant so much to her and she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving; daughters; Becky (Murray) Morton of Camden, Nancy (Edward) Barfield of Myrtle Beach, granddaughters; Stefani (Hal) Timmerman, Jr. of Awendaw, Leslie (Scott) Harmon of Chapin, grandsons; Bryan (Karen) Barfield of Jacksonville, FL., Jeff (Stacy) Barfield of Conway, great grandchildren; Zachary Barfield, Matthew and Emily Barfield, Tidal and Hensley Timmerman, Emily Grace, Luke and Olivia Harmon, sisters; Doris West, Odessa Faile, Shirley Connell all of Kershaw, Betty Sue (Buck) West and Eleanor Watkins both of Bethune. She was predeceased in death by 4 sisters and 1 brother. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Church Gymnasium. Memorial contributions may be given to Kershaw Second Baptist Church, 7737 Kershaw- Camden Highway, Kershaw, S.C. 29067. The family would like to thank the staff of the A. Sam Karesh Long-Term Care and KershawHealth for the love and support they have shown to Mrs. Hancock.
