Marian Miles Fletcher

Funeral services for Marian Miles Fletcher, 93, of Kershaw, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2012, in First Presbyterian Church, Kershaw. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Jesse Hegler will officiate. Mrs. Fletcher, widow of Robert Hough Fletcher, Sr., died Wednesday, June 20, in Lancaster Convalescent Center following a short stay. She had been a resident of Morningside Assisted Living in Lancaster for the past 4 years. Born in Charleston, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Bascom and Dorothy Estelle Conaway Miles. Mrs. Fletcher had been an administrative assistant for Mark Sullivan Insurance Co. and Kershaw Real Estate. She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Fletcher also enjoyed reading, sewing and playing bridge. Surviving are her daughter, Jan Collins and her husband Randy of Lancaster, her son, Bob Fletcher and his wife Linda of Huntsville, Alabama; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Fletcher, Valerie Newton, Allison Carter, Christy Cauthen, Melissa Collins, Mark Fletcher, Michael Miller, Tim Miller, Susan Still and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by a son, Tommy Fletcher; a daughter, Donna Miller and a sister, Barbara Ballard. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, in the church parlor beginning at 2:00 p.m. and other times at the home, 1242 West Manor Drive, Lancaster.
