Funeral services for Margie Reese Jackson, 75 of Camden will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. Ms. Jackson died suddenly Saturday, November 16, 2013, at KershawHealth, Camden. Born in the Mt. Pisgah community of Kershaw County, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Harmon and Cora Horton Reese. Margie worked at the Kendall Plant before her accident in July of 1966. She had been a resident at the A. Sam Karesh Wing for 40 years. Margie loved life even though she was a quadriplegic. She enjoyed life, people and her family. She always remained positive to the very end. Margie liked to look her best. She made sure she was dressed, her hair and make-up fixed and her jewelry was selected for each day. Margie also enjoyed making her way around the Karesh Wing visiting. Surviving are her sister, Myrtis McCants of Aiken, S.C.; 4 brothers, Carroll Reese and his wife Sabren of Jefferson, S.C., Len Reese and his wife Annie Mae of Hartsville, S.C., Gerald Reese and his wife Margie of Kershaw, S.C., Eddie Reese and his wife Joyce of Bethune, S.C.; her aunt, Edna Broadway of Camden, S.C. and a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the many wonderful friends and caretakers that have blessed Margie’s life over the years including, her First Baptist Church family, and the staff of the Karesh Wing. The family will receive friends, one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Margie’s memory to A. Sam Karesh Long-term Care-- Activities Fund, 1315 Roberts Street, Camden, S.C. 29720.
