Margie Owens Young

Funeral services for Margie Owens Young, 75, will be held 2:00 p.m.Thursday, May 13, at DeKalb Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 12, from 6:00 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw. Memorials may be made to DeKalb Baptist Church Playground Fund, P.O. Box 2122, Camden, SC 29021.

Mrs. Young, widow of Joseph Ray Young, died Tuesday, May 11. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Henrietta Baker Owens. Mrs. Young had retired as an Avon Representative. She was a member of DeKalb Baptist Church where she was a choir member and served in various other capacities. Mrs. Young loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her sons, Bobby Young and his wife, Joyce of Westville, and Donnie Young and his wife, Lisa of Westville; granddaughters, Julie Sims (Kevin) of Kershaw, and Tracy Bell (Jeremy) of Camden; grandson, Dillon Young of Westville; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Iva Lee Elliott of Camden, Sue Neal of Texas, Miriam Tyron of Summerville and Barbara Brazell of Camden; brothers, Jack Owens of Lake Wateree, Stan Owens, Charles Owens, and Clayton Owens all of Camden. She was predeceased by a daughter Tammy Renee Young and a brother, Wayne Owens.
