Mrs. Bowers passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the age of 93. Born at home in Kershaw, she was the daughter of Mr. Johnny Jackson Small and Mrs. Nannie Mae Robinson Small. Mrs. Bowers was the wife of the late Billie E. Bowers for 72 years. She retired from Springs Industries in Kershaw and worked at SkyLine in Heath Springs for a number of years. Mrs. Bowers was a longtime member of DeKalb Baptist Church where she served as Treasurer for the Women’s Sunday School class, a member of the WMU, the Seniors group and the church choir. She loved to grow flowers, camp at the mountains, watch her birds and enjoyed her beloved outdoor cat “Kit”. Her greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her daughters; Nancy Adams (Wayne), Dianne Truesdale (Joey); sons Mike Bowers (Debbie), Ricky Bowers (Wanda); nine grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Billy Ray Small and Bryan Small; sisters Louise Lyles and Johnnie Mae Coker. Surviving are her brother, Bruce (Gloria) Small of Lancaster, SC and sister-in-law, Akiko Bowers of Camden, SC. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The funeral service for Margaret Small Bowers, will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at DeKalb Baptist Church Camden, SC with burial to follow in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Visitation with the family will follow the graveside service in the church fellowship hall. The Revs. Vince Earls and Keith Coates will officiate.
