Margaret Neal Mackey

Margaret Neal Mackey, 89, of Heath Springs, S.C., passed away, Friday, July 22, 2022, in MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center, Lancaster, S.C. Born in Heath Springs, S.C., she was a daughter of the late John Wilson Neal, Sr. and Lucille Gardner Neal. She was a homemaker and a member of Heath Springs Baptist Church.

Mrs. Mackey is survived by 3 children, Debra Mackey and Rev. Steve Mackey and his wife, Vicki all of Heath Springs, S.C. and Carol M. Johnson and her husband, Allen of Monroe, N.C.: 4 grandchildren, Dana Tyson (Sam), Liz Bell (Benjy), Allison Snipes (Travis) and Will Johnson (fiancé, Kalea) and 5 great grandchildren, Layton Bell, Alder Bell, Ferryn Bell, Alton Snipes and Sloan Snipes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Warren Mackey, her daughter, Donna Claire, her brother, John Wilson Neal, Jr. and his wife, Margie and her sister, Jo Lynn Barrett and her husband, Claude.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 26, 2022, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, S.C. Rev. Steve Mackey will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakhurst Baptist Church Cemetery, Heath Springs, S.C.

The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
