Funeral services for Mamie Mangum Blackwell, 87, will be held at 2:00p.m., Friday, December 3, 2010 in Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. The Revs. Hugh McKinney and Don Knight will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 2, from 5:00 6:30 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kershaw Second Baptist Church, 7737 Kershaw Camden Highway, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.

Mrs. Blackwell died Wednesday, December 1. Born in Bethune, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Bleeka Joyner Mangum. Mrs. Blackwell had retired from Springs Industries after 34 years of service. She was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Mrs. Blackwell was very active in her church and an avid reader of the Bible.

Surviving are her husband of 69 years, E.F. Blackie Blackwell; son, Erbie (Gwen) of Charleston; son-in-law, Connie D. Catoe of Kershaw; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Gary Mangum of Illinois, Melvin Mangum of Bethune and Dexter Mangum of Lancaster. She was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia B. Pat Catoe, sisters, Inez Catoe, Irene Ray, Hattie Mae Payne, and Beulah Davis, and brothers, Frank Mangum and Barnwell Mangum.
