Major Neil Porter Stribling, US Army (Ret.), age 84, of Kershaw, S.C. passed away, Monday, March 31, 2025, at his home. Born in Greenwood County, S.C. he was a son of the late Edward Stribling and Evelyn Jones Stribling. Major Stribling held a B.S. in Aviation. He obtained the rank of Major in the US Army. After retiring from the Army, he taught ROTC at Buford High School, Lancaster, S.C. and Bethune High School, Bethune, S.C. He was an outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. During his military career he was a highly decorated veteran.
He is survived by his son, Frank W. Stribling and his wife, Roshel; his daughter, Mona Stribling; 4 grandchildren, Jordan Stribling Garris and her husband, Joseph, McKenzie Stribling, Alex Stribling and Kaycie Stribling; his brother, Melvin Stribling and his sister, Laurel Fowler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Silvia Stribling.
A graveside service honoring his life will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 10:00 o’clock A.M. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, S.C. with full military honors. The burial will follow in the cemetery. His late wife will be laid to rest with him.
