Maggie Starnes Craig

Maggie Bell Starnes Craig, age 86 of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Friday morning April 26, 2024, at her granddaughter’s home. Born in the Fork Hill community of Lancaster County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late James Starnes and Margaret Rollings Starnes. Mrs. Craig was a former employee of Springs Industries. She had been a substitute teacher in various schools. Mrs. Craig was always willing to serve and volunteer where needed. She enjoyed making crafts and sending cards for all occasions. She was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church and was a member of the JOY group. She cherished the time she spent with her family.


A graveside service to remember and celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday morning, May 1, 2024, from the graveside in Fork Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Heath Springs, S.C.


Friends may pay their respects and sign the register book on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.


Mrs. Craig is survived by her grandchildren, Steven Cauthen and his wife, Irena, Brandi Musselman and Breanna Conejo and her husband, Francisco; 19 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and 11 brothers and sisters, Bryce, Betty Ann, Donald, Ernest, Jackie, Jim, Linda, Peggy, Ray, Rick, and Wayne.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James William “Billy” Craig, Jr. and 4 children, James William Craig, III, Bobby Dean Craig, Terry Lynn Craig Cauthen, and Joseph William Craig.


Memorial contributions may be made to Kershaw Second Baptist Church, 7737 Kershaw-Camden Highway, Kershaw, S.C. in her memory.


Arrangements are under the care of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, S.C.
