Maggie Horton Corbett

Magnolia Horton “Maggie” Corbett, age 92 of Bethune, S.C. passed away, Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center, Camden, S.C. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie Stevens and Nettie Mosley Stevens. She was a former employee of the Kendall Co. Mrs. Corbert was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Bethune, S.C. She enjoyed working puzzles, cooking, canning and spending time in her garden. She loved flowers.

She is survived by her children, Peggy Dixon and her husband, Donald, Dennis Horton, Danny Horton and his wife, Patricia and Bruce Horton and his wife, Gail; 5 grandchildren, Kevin (Jennifer) Dixon, Emily (Harold) Windburn, Dolly Gardner, Jessica (Ryan) Jackson and Chase (Taylor) Horton; 12 great grandchildren, Garrett, Natalie, Sean, Cole, Gavin, Dani Claire, Sawyer, Lydia, Lucas, Noah, Ellie and Dexter; 6 great-great grandchildren, London, Blakely, Finley, Cohen, Bellah and Josie; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Corbett and a sister-in-law, Sarah Stevens.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Everett Horton who passed away in 1975 and her second husband, Otis L. Corbett who passed away in 2004; her stepson, David L. Corbett; 2 sisters, Doris McQuad and Elizabeth Threatt and a brother, J.W. Stevens.

A funeral service to remember her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 23, 2025, in the sanctuary of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Bethune, S.C. The Revs. Dennis Outlaw, Jimmy Holley and Donnie Dixon will officiate the service. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends following the burial in the church Fellowship Hall.
