Madilyn Grace “Madie” DeBruhl, 16, of Heath Springs, S.C., passed away, Saturday, March 20, 2021, in Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, N.C. Born in Pineville, N.C., she was the daughter of Christopher Gary DeBruhl and Monica Bowers DeBruhl. “Madie” was a member of Fork Hill Baptist Church and attended Andrew Jackson High School. She loved making crafts, reading and spending time with her family. Her favorite pastime was collecting elephants.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her brother, Rylan DeBruhl, her paternal grandparents, Gary DeBruhl of Kershaw, S.C. and Shirley DeBruhl of Bethune, S.C.; her maternal grandparents, Roger and Pam Bowers of Heath Springs, S.C.; her aunts and uncles, Rebecca and Andy Pitts and their children, Mallory and Mason, Caitlin and Josh Baker and their children, Jake, Luke and Ella Rose, Sondra and Mark Tadlock and their family, Coty (Amanda) Putrel and their daughter, Stella, Brooke (Tyler) Putrel and their son, Xander and Lisa (Jr. Rollins) DeBruhl and their daughter, Makenna; her best friend, Molly McKittrick and extended family and a host of friends who loved her dearly.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday evening, March 23, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, S.C.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Fork Hill Baptist Church, Heath Springs, S.C. The Rev. Dale Walters and Brandon Hammond will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
