On Tuesday, March 9th, 2021, Lynn Baker of Heath Springs, S.C., loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 66. Lynn was born on February 8th, 1955 in Baltimore, MD to William and Constance Thompson. She studied nursing at the University of Maryland and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a master’s degree in exercise science in 1996. She enjoyed a long career in nursing, retiring after 28 years of service in April of 2015 from University of South Carolina at Lancaster and the South Carolina Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

Lynn married her beloved husband, Johnny Baker on May 24th, 2000. She had a strong faith in God, and she loved to share her faith with others. She led the choir at Heath Springs Baptist Church and went on several mission trips to other countries. Lynn loved sewing and quilting. When she was at home, she could usually be found in her sewing room happily working away, surrounded by projects.

Lynn was preceded in death by her mother Connie Thompson, and brother Brian Thompson. She is survived by her father, William Thompson; stepmother Claudette Thompson; sister, Eve Smith (Bart); brothers Bill Thompson (Dean) and Chris Thompson (Beth); daughters, Kathy Taylor (Joey) and Laura Petty (Mike); stepdaughter Missy Catoe; stepsons, John Baker and Jason Baker; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 13th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, corner of Lynnwood Drive and New Hope Road, Lancaster, S.C. Rev. Dr. Frankie Melton will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends following the committal in the cemetery.
