Lynda R. Horton

Lynda Reid Horton, 72, of Liberty Hill, S.C., mother (momma), grandmother (grandma), sister, and aunt went home to be with the Lord, on December 29, 2022, after a battle with cancer at her home. Lynda was the daughter of the late Robert Harden Reid, III and Edith Clanton Reid. She was an educator for the Lancaster County School District for twenty-eight years. She taught her children to work hard and NEVER leave the house without being “made-up.” She enjoyed spending time with her Lake Wateree friends (Peggy Sneed), her family, and her dog Chester.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Wendy Horton Bartell and her husband, Kevin, Heather Horton Lagasse and her boyfriend, David Sanders, and Meredith Horton Ghent; six grandchildren, McKenna Bartell, Trent Bartell, Tanner Lagasse, Reid Lagasse, Skylar Ghent, and Bree Ghent; a brother, Bob Reid and his wife Jane, a sister in law, Sheila (David) Shores, and two brothers-in-law, Mac (Libby) Horton, and Jim (Brenda) Horton, and nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service for the family will be held in Salem Cemetery, Heath Springs, S.C.

Memorial remembrances may be made to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Mrs. Horton.

The family would like to thank all who have been praying for us, checking on us, and bringing us food during mom’s illness.
