Lula Mae Jackson Newman

Lula Mae Jackson Newman, 83, died at her home Thursday, July 31, 2014. Born in Ruby, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Washington and Estelle Gainey Jackson. Mrs. Newman was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, James D. “J.D.” Newman; daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Joe Mason of McBee; two sisters, Oddie Horton of McBee and Alice Johnson of Jefferson and a brother, Lynn Jackson of McBee . She was predeceased by a brother, Ray Jackson of Pageland. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 2, at 2:00 p.m. in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Terry Corder will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the church Family Life Center. Memorials may be made to Mt.
