A funeral service for Lula Long Phillips, age 84, of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 11:00 o’clock a.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Steve Neal will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
Mrs. Phillips, widow of Floyd Milton Phillips, Sr., died Saturday, May 27, 2017, at her home. Born in Kershaw, SC, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Mamie Bowers Long. She was a former employee of Springs Industries, a sales clerk for Griffin’s 88 Cent Store and had been the manager of the Super 10 Store in Kershaw. She also enjoyed word searches, gardening, canning and keeping children. She was a member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Pam (Glenn) Hunter; her son, Milton (Kay) Phillips; 3 grandchildren, Lacey (Jason) Lowery, Josh Hunter and Neil (Misty) Scott and 2 great grandchildren, Gaige Lowery and Grayson Lowery. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Meagan Phillips.
The family will receive friends, Monday, May 29, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 o’clock p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home.
