Lucy Mae Seegars Twitty, age 95, of Kershaw, S.C. passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at her home. Born in Kershaw, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Richard Willie Seegars and Mamie Angeline Gardner Seegars. Mrs. Twitty retired from Springs Industries after 45 years of service and a member of Second Baptist Church.
Lucy Mae enjoyed playing bingo, going out to eat, and spending time with her family. She was loved by all that were fortunate to know her.
She is survived by her two loving daughters: Troyanne Twitty Downey (Ron) and Sonya Twitty Gardner and her friend, Darryl Hunter; 5 grandchildren; Amy Nienhuis (Mike), Mandy Deese (Chuck), Brandon Gardner (Chelsey), Cory Gardner (Courtney) and Jason Hunter; 12 great-grandchildren; Joshua, Haylee, Caleb, Chase, Billy, Hannah, James, KJ, Kolton, Kamden, Kennedy, and Connor. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and her best friend, Barbara Faris.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Twitty and siblings, Hebron, Wade, Jack, Douglas, Thelma, and Rosa.
A graveside inurnment service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Steve Warren will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service at the Family Life Center of Second Baptist Church in Kershaw, S.C.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Lancaster & the Piedmont for the compassion and care provided to Mrs. Twitty and her family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Baker Funeral Home, 210 E. Hilton Street, Kershaw, S.C. 29067 to assist the family with final expenses.
