Lucille Hunter Roberts

A graveside service for Lucille Hunter Roberts, 99 of Kershaw will be held, Saturday, June 9, at 10:00 o’clock a.m. in the Roberts Cemetery (located directly in front of Buffalo Baptist Church), Kershaw. Rev. Michael Owens will officiate.

Mrs. Roberts, widow of Sam H. Roberts, Jr. died Thursday, June 7, at Lancaster Convalescent Center, Lancaster. Born in Kershaw, she was a daughter of the late J.C. “Doc” and Docia Outen Hunter. She retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church. She was a member of the Lydia Bible Class at the church and enjoyed crocheting.

Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Louise H. Truesdale and her husband William of Kershaw; her grandson, Mike Roberts and his wife Angie; her granddaughter, Patti Stover and her husband Jon all of Kershaw; 4 great grandchildren, Jason (Leah) Roberts of Marion, NC, Kristi (Tim) Amason of Lancaster, Nicole (Brandon) Gainey of Jefferson and Emily Stover of Kershaw; 5 great–great grandchildren. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her only son, Wendell Roberts; 2 brothers, Conder and Koger and 2 sisters, Josie and Mamie.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
