Louise Phillips

Louise Usher Phillips, age 78, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away Friday evening, March 31, 2023, at her home. Born in Chesterfield County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late William Ervin Usher and Beulah Mae Cagle Usher. She was a former employee of Caro Knit and was of Baptist faith. She enjoyed fishing, her cats and her new puppy, Lucky. Mrs. Phillips was married to the late Harvey Odell Phillips who predeceased her.

She is survived by her caregivers, Danny and Susan Byrd; sisters-in-law, Mildred P. Payne, Loree P. Caldwell and her husband, Larry and Joyce Usher; brother-in-law, Waldo Phillips and his wife, Carolyn and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Odell Phillips, Jr., 2 sisters, Inez Melton and Betty Edwards and 2 brothers, Carson Usher and Johnny Usher.

The family will greet friends, Tuesday afternoon, April 4, 2023, from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. in Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Michael Owens and Rev. Hunter Dease will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
