Funeral services for Louis Clay Mitchell, 75, will be held at 2:00 P.M. FRIDAY, JUNE 6, 2008, in Hanging Rock United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites. Rev. Scott Cloninger will officiate.
 
Mr. Mitchell, husband of the late Mildred Louise Fletcher Mitchell died Monday, June 2, 2008. Born in Red Oak, N.C. , he was the son of the late Sele and Geneva Clay Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was retired from Dupont Co. He was a former employee of Lancaster County EMS, Kershaw Recreation Center and enjoyed farming. He was an active member of Flat Rock Lodge # 178 where he was a 40 year + member serving in all chairs. He served his country in the US Navy and was a member of Hanging Rock United Methodist Church.
 
Surviving are 2 children; Gena Price and her husband David, Clay Mitchell and his wife Donna all of Kershaw, 7 grandchildren; Jennifer Morris, Tiffany Sullivan, Joby Price, Amanda Outen, Kayla Blalock, A.T. Plyler and Jennifer Blackmon, 7 great grandchildren; Kory and Austin Outen, Tyler and Zackary Sullivan, Kameron Morris, Ethan Blalock and Balian Blackmon , 3 sisters; Aleithia Hedgepath of Red Oak, N.C., Lynn Leonard of Grifton, N.C. and Jenny Moss of Rocky Mount, N.C. and a sister-in-law Louise Mitchell of Rocky Mount, N.C..
 
The family will receive friends, Thursday, June 5, 2008, from 6 to 8 P.M at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son, 4094 Red Maple Road, Kershaw.
