Lonnie James “Cowboy” Freeman, 65, of Bethune, SC, passed away, Friday, November 6, 2020, at his home. Born in Bethune, he was a son of the late J.T. and Hattie Rollins Freeman. Mr. Freeman retired from DuPont now known as Invista and was a member of Shamrock Baptist Church. He enjoyed horseback riding and loved his horse “Doc”. Mr. Freeman also loved playing sports. He was a Christian and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He leaves behind his wife Pam; his daughter, Christina and his son, Christopher and his wife, Teresa; 5 grandchildren, Makayla, Josh, Megan, Matthew and Bailey; 1 great grandchild; 2 step-children, April and Nathan; 1 step-grandchild; 4 sisters, Betty (Wayne) Bartell, Peggy Thompson, Mae (Frankie) Blackmon and Pat (Larry) Robinson; 3 brothers, Thomas (Judy) Freeman, Jesse (Margaret) Freeman and Donnie (Lisia) Freeman; a sister-in-law, Donna Freeman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, James and Earl; a brother-in-law, Gary Thompson and a sister-in-law, Anne Freeman.

A private memorial service will be held at Baker Funeral Home. Rev. Todd Gandy will officiate.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Freeman may be made to Shamrock Baptist Church, 3573 Porter Road, Bethune, SC 29009 or Kershaw County Parks and Recreation, Youth Sports, 1042 West DeKalb Street, Camden, SC 29020.
