Linda Dixon Cauthen, age, 76 of Kershaw, SC., passed away, Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center, Lancaster, S.C. Born in Lancaster, S.C. she was a daughter of the late Hubert L. “Termite” Dixon and Pearl Driver Dixon. She was a graduate of Lancaster High School and retired from Springs Industries in 1998 after 31 years of service. Linda was also a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church, Heath Springs, S.C. She enjoyed reading, antique junking with her best friend, the late Brenda Hilliard, traveling to the beach and the mountains. She enjoyed life every day. She was married to the late Jerry Lee “Chicken” Cauthen.
She is survived by her brothers, Michael L. Dixon and William T. Dixon, sisters, Sherry D. Pico, Donna D. Couch and her husband, Robert and Sharon M. Godfrey and her husband, Neil. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, including, Robert Workman, Jr., great nieces and great nephews that called her Nanna including Sydney, Jorgie and Wade who she loved with all her heart. She was predeceased in death in addition to her parents and husband by her stepmother, Peggy M. Dixon, a sister, Beverly D. McElory, a brother, Robert W. Workman, Sr., sisters-in-law, Joann Dixon and Dale Anderson and her beloved dachshund, Suzy.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. in the afternoon in BAKER CONFERENCE CENTER, 105 N. Minor Street, Kershaw, S.C. Rev. Todd Gandy will officiate. A private burial will be in the Beaver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Heath Springs, S.C. for the family.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the Conference Center.
Memorial contributions in memory of Linda may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
