Funeral services for Lillian Horton Faulkenberry, 99, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 5, 2009, in Hanging Rock United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Faulkenberry died Friday, January 2, 2009, at her home. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Shelly B., Sr. and Eunice Cauthen Horton. She was a homemaker and worked at the US Shell Plant during World War, II. Mrs. Faulkenberry was the oldest member of Hanging Rock United Methodist Church. She along with her late husband enjoyed visiting the sick and shut-ins. She was an avid gardener. She was married to the late Joseph Carl Faulkenberry.
Surviving are her daughter; Lena Faulkenberry and her husband Donnie of Kershaw, two grandchildren; Jonathan Ray Faulkenberry and his wife Hannah of Kershaw, Donna F. Dixon and her husband Jessie of Rock Hill, three great- grandchildren; Emily Dixon, Wyatt Faulkenberry and Madilyn Faulkenberry, two sisters; Kathleen Sowell and Virginia Robinson both of Kershaw. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Harvey Horton and Shelly Horton, Jr. and a sister; Ruth Williams.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, January 4, 2009, from 3 to 5 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home, 601 West Welsh Street, Kershaw.
