Lewis “Jabo” Sims, 81, of Kershaw, passed away, Friday, April 10, 2020. Born in Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Bill and Lula Faile Sims. Mr. Sims was a graduate of Flat Creek High School and operated Big A Auto Parts for a number of years in Kershaw. He was a United States Army veteran, a lifetime member of Abney Lodge # 211 and a Shriner. Mr. Sims was a former volunteer fireman with the Kershaw Fire Department and a former dispatcher with the Kershaw Police Department. Mr. Sims was a former member of the Kershaw Town Council and was currently serving on the Lancaster County Planning and Zoning Board.
A service will be held from the graveside, Thursday, April 16, at 11:00 o’clock a.m. in Kershaw City Cemetery. The Revs. Bart Miles and Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. Burial will follow the service in the cemetery. The public is invited to attend.
The family will acknowledge friends at the graveside.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, April 15, from 10:00 to 4:00 o’clock p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Annie Blake West Sims of the home, 3 children, Tracy L. Davis and his wife Heather; Denise C. Phillips and her husband Joe Reed all of Kershaw and Chris Connell and his wife Lisa of Charleston; 5 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter and 2 sisters, Mildred S. Kinsey and Nita S. Yates. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Westley Reed Phillips and siblings, Evelyn Robinson, Willie Mae Roberts, Vera Lee Gerkins, Billie Jean Sims and George A. Sims.
