Lewis Milton "Mickey" Clyburn

Lewis Milton “Mickey” Clyburn, age 83, of York S.C. and formerly of Liberty Hill, S.C. passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, in his home. Mickey was the son of the late William Thomas “Tommy” Clyburn and Nell Catoe Clyburn of Kershaw S.C. He was happily married to his wife Melinda Brenan Clyburn for 60 years. A United States Air Force Veteran, Mickey was a Clemson University graduate and was a member of the Pershing Rifles. After Clemson, Mickey graduated from the Institute of Textile Technology and pursued a lifelong career in textiles with Milliken, Springs Industries, and Delta Woodsides. After retirement he developed, built and managed Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw S.C. He was also the former fire chief for Beaver Creek Fire Department. 

He is survived by his wife Melinda Clyburn, two sons Andy Clyburn (Lori) of Rock Hill S.C., Scott Clyburn (Cindi) of Chester S.C. and 4 grandchildren, Colton, Jake, Sam and Carsyn. He is also survived by his brother, Charles Clyburn (Cindy) of Myrtle Beach S.C. 

A memorial service to remember and celebrate his life will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from the Baker Funeral Home Chapel, 210 E. Hilton Street, Kershaw, S.C. 29067. Rev. Dr. Gene Rollins will officiate. 

A private family burial will precede the memorial service in Kershaw City Cemetery, Kershaw, S.C.
