Leonard Curtis Scott, Jr.

Leonard Curtis “Collard” Scott, Jr., 69, of Lexington, S.C. and formerly of the Buffalo community, Kershaw, S.C., passed away Thursday evening, December 23, 2021, at his home. He was a son of the late Leonard Curtis Scott, Sr. and Mary Gardner Scott. He was a former employee of Procter and Gamble formerly known as Duracell where he was a maintenance mechanic.

He was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church and loved his farm with his cows. Earlier in life, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and currently enjoyed playing golf. He loved all sports, especially football.

Mr. Scott is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Williams Scott of the home, his daughter, Stacey Scott Shealy and her husband, Douglas of Lexington, S.C.; his son, Neil Scott and his wife, Melissa of Irmo, S.C.; 3 grandchildren, Olivia Shealy, Leonard “Leo” Scott and Lillian “Lilly” Scott; his brother, Richard Scott and his wife, Jane of South Pittsburgh, TN and his sister-in-law, Mary Jo Scott of Kershaw, S.C. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Scott.

The family will greet friends, Wednesday morning, December 29, 2021, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Buffalo Baptist Church, Kershaw, S.C.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held following the visitation at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of Buffalo Baptist Church, Kershaw, S.C. The Revs. Larry Humphries and Tom Newboult will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Scott may be made to Buffalo Baptist Church, 6390 Lockhart Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
